The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent is pleased to announce open competition for the 2020 TechWomen mentorship and exchange program.
TechWomen aims to empower, connect and support the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East by providing them the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities. Approximately 108 professional women working in STEM fields from 21 countries in the aforementioned regions will travel to Silicon Valley, San Francisco Bay Area of California in September 2019 for an intensive exchange focused on promoting collaboration in science and technology.
Approximately 108 professional women working in STEM fields from 21 countries in North Africa and the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Central Asia will travel to the United States in September 2020 for an intensive five-week exchange focused on promoting collaboration in science and technology. Women will select one of six tracks: information technology, green technology, science, internet, biotechnology, or telecommunications when applying. Applicants must have strong English skills as the program is conducted entirely in English.
TechWomen participants are selected based on the eligibility requirements listed https://uz.usembassy.gov/education-culture/exchange-programs/techwomen/. Applications are reviewed by independent selection committees composed of industry leaders and regional experts. Semifinalists will be interviewed by U.S. Embassy Tashkent personnel.

April 2020: Semifinalists are contacted
May 2020: Final selection decisions are made
September – October 2020: U.S. TechWomen program
Applications must be in English and must be submitted online by 22:00 (local time in Uzbekistan) on January 15, 2020.
