The purpose of the execution of the law of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PQ-2956 on May 5, 2017 “On Measures for Further Reforming the System of Medical Education in the Republic of Uzbekistan” and PQ-3775 on June 5, 2018 “Improving the quality of education in higher education institutions and their additional measures to ensure active participation in comprehensive reforms”, Andijan State Medical Institute and Andijan Machine-Building Institute developed jointly experimental interdisciplinary master’s program, essential for the healthcare system, bio-engineering, medical engineering has been implemented as a test in order to prepare of medical engineers academic year from 2018-2019.

This program is designed for graduates of technical higher education institutions in the field of electronics, automation of technological processes, metrology, material science and medical higher education institutions in the field of biophysics, biotechnology systems and medical-prophylactic, medical and biological sciences. The credit-module system is being implemented as a test on the basis of the master’s degree program approved by Ministry of higher and secondary special education of Republic of Uzbekistan .

Therefore, the regular meeting on the implementation of the joint educational program was organized at Andijan State Medical Institute. In the meeting, the rector of Andijan State Medical University, vice rectors for academic affairs, heads of international relations department, heads of graduate department, heads of educational and methodical department, heads of planning and finance, heads of the chair and a number of professor’s from partner institutions were attended.

The rector of Andijan State Medical University, doctor of medical sciences, professor M.M. Madazimov pointed out that it has a great deal of innovations in the field of medicine, wide-ranging partnerships with higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and foreign higher education institutions, as well as the joint master’s program named medicine and biotechnology machines and equipment.

In particular, he mentioned that 9 applicants have been accepted the direction of  “medicine and biotechnology, machinery and equipment” corporate with Andijan Machine Building Institute in order to introduce the practice of joint education programs and double diploma, in order to pursuant the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № PQ-3775 of June 5, 2018 “On additional measures to improve the quality of education in higher education institutions and ensure their active participation in the country’s comprehensive reforms,” ​​on admission to educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the Decree of the State Commission on September 17, 2018, jointly with the higher educational institutions and foreign higher education institutions for the 2018/2019 academic year.

At the same time, his remarked the importance of medical engineering and its professional activities include technical and scientific sphere, human activity, equipment for medical diagnostics, use of modern software for the prevention and rehabilitation of human diseases, use of software for solving medical laboratories.

Next, Z.B. Juraev, the head of international relations department of Andijan Machine Building    Institute, gave detailed information about the organizational structure, training sessions and specialization subjects of the joint master’s program “Medical and Biotechnology Machines and Equipment”. In particular, in cooperation with the Catholic University of Daegu in South Korea and the Andijon State Medical Institute, the Master of Science in the field of Medical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering) based on the 1 + 1 model of joint educational programs and bilateral diplomas (in the 1st academic year Andijan Machine Building Institute and Andijan State Medical Institutes and in the second academic year at Catholic University of Daegu in South Korea), he remarked.

During the meeting, heads of departments of the Andijan State Medical Institute and the Andijan Machine-Building Institute agreed on the prospects of the joint master’s program within their competence. At the end of the meeting, the rector of the Andijan State Medical Institute, Professor M.M. Madazimov instructed heads departments to carry out classes, to provide masters with necessary medical equipment and information and communication technologies, and to pay particular attention to the quality of education.
