Under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher and secondary specialized education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the US Embassy in Uzbekistan, Curt Schurgers from the University of California visited the Andijan Machine Building Institute as part of the Fulbright program. The main purpose of the visit was to provide special seminars and workshops for the professors and teachers of the Andijan Machine Building Institute by professor Curt Schurgers. This seminar was devoted to the methods of teaching robotics, and included discussion on introducing new technologies in robotics.

In the second part of the visit, a workshop on Robotics and Arduino was held for students of the Andijan Machine Building institute headed by professor Curt Schurgers. At this workshop, students of the institute prepared programs for the Arduino platforms and prepared various projects. The desire for students to learn and the profound experience of professor Curt’s work in the field provided a meaningful demonstration of this workshop.

Professor Curt Schurgers is a professor of electronics and computer science at the University of California. Together with research in this university, he teaches students in robotics and management equipment. The subject of today’s scientific research is a systematic approach to wireless communication, with its team achieving the most advanced engineering experience. Professor Curt Schurgers is also the founder of “Engineers for research” at the University of California.

Professor Curt Schurgers got master’s degree from the University of Katholieke Leuven in Belgium and a Ph.D. in electronics engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is a research fellow at the University of Technology, Massachusetts, which ranks first in the world rankings.

The seminar was held on May 21 of this year. During the visit of Professor Curt Schurgers, the institute of Machine Building and the University of California signed cooperation agreements on exchange of teachers, staff and students. Also, an agreement was reached on the joint implementation of scientific research. At the end of the visit, Prof. Curt Schurgers shared his impressions and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the Andijan Machine Building institute and the creation of excellent facilities for the seminar-workshop.
